Christmas Came in July for the CAC

It was Christmas in July at our Child Advocacy Center (CAC) recently, as the Rose family, who hosts a pajama drive in the winter for our children who have been abused, stopped by to drop off more pajamas for our children in need! Thank you, Rose family! The CAC serves around 450 child victims of abuse and neglect in Suffolk County each year through a multidisciplinary approach for the best outcomes for the child.

VIBS Lectures Respite Team on Elder Abuse

Recently, Donna Buccellato, Elder Abuse Educator for the Victims Information Bureau of Suffolk (VIBS), conducted a presentation for the team in our In-Home Respite Services program, which provides companions to give caregivers much-needed time off. The workshop created greater awareness of the complicated issues surrounding elder abuse and will also allow our companions to be more alert to problems they may encounter in clients' homes.
